Key Responsibilities
As a Farrowing Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and well-being of pigs at Minnema Farms. Your responsibilities include:
- Collecting boar semen for breeding purposes.
- Monitoring the health of animals and reporting any issues.
- Grooming and caring for livestock.
- Assisting with piglet-related tasks such as:
- Clipping needle teeth.
- Docking tails.
- Administering iron and other medications.
- Identifying piglets.
- Castrating male piglets.
- Feeding and tending to animals daily.
Work Conditions
This position requires physical stamina and attention to detail. Candidates must be comfortable with tasks that involve a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and be prepared to work in a physically demanding environment.
